The wonderful, life-enhancing Brow Chakra or AJNA.

Our overall happiness depends on the wellbeing of this chakra, as it represents the centre of our independent and strong mind.  It naturally strengthens and develops in our thirties after we’ve experienced a thing or two in our lives, and have (hopefully) learned from our mistakes.
As our wisdom increases with age, so does our Brow chakra.

Pineal Gland DiagramIt’s positioned at the pineal gland and has the ability to stimulate both hemispheres of the brain when fully activated. As we know by now, balance is much needed in any part of our lives, so we can only imagine our ability to think clearly and concisely when our left hemisphere (rational thinking) and our right hemisphere (creative thinking) of the brain work together in perfect harmony.
Pure bliss! 🙂

When our Third Eye chakra is balanced, we are able to experience reality as it is, yet still, realise we are able to shape and mould it with our imagination and mental power.

How to fully activate your Brow Chakra?

Start by believing ANYTHING is possible with the power of your mind. Change your limiting beliefs by acknowledging them and working on replacing them with new positive beliefs.

Positive mental attitude

One of my favourite sentences that I try to live by happens to be the title of a kick-ass book by Peter McWilliams, and it goes like this:

“You can’t afford a luxury of a negative thought.”

Thinking positive thoughts about yourself and your life requires constant discipline and it’s often easier to give in to the negative mindstream.

Reflection of yourselfYou are who you think you are.
Everyone else is merely a reflection of your soul.
What do you see?
Face it. Face yourself.
As painful as it is, dig deep. Discuss your depth with people you trust, they know you the most.

Be willing to change the things you don’t like about yourself. At first, a lot of acceptance and forgiveness will have to take place.
By facing your insides (not literally, of course) you will get to know things about yourself you never knew existed.
And that’s the amazing part – it feels like you just started dating yourself.

Why on Earth not?!

Spoil yourself with little gestures of appreciation, attention and love.
The fact is, no one else is going to do it for you as well as you can.
Cultivate self-love and you won’t have such a desperate need to be loved by others.
And that’s when the magic starts to happen!

Positive AffirmationsOur Brow chakra responds really well to self-worth affirmations.
It’s in this chakra that we can affirm our goodness and deservedness and start to shift our perceptions of who we are in order to improve our physical wellbeing and mental happiness.
Through our Brow Chakra, we can access our psychic powers and internal guidance.

Third Eye chakra is closely linked with our ‘sixth sense’. How many times have you dismissed a warning gut feeling because it didn’t seem rational only to regret it later?
Forget about logical justifications of your brain and rather focus solely on what your body is telling you.
Something about that person doesn’t feel right even though they seem like the sweetest thing alive? Listen to your intuition and walk away, even if you can’t provide them with a reason.
Your body and your intuition know best.
Honour your inner wisdom. 🙂
Yoga Meditation PracticeTo be able to control our minds and our stream of thoughts we have to learn to silence the mind in the Now. By practising yoga and meditation we can bring our thoughts from the past and the present and anchor them in the Now. And that’s where our thoughts have no power over us because they don’t exist.
Our minds become still and we start experiencing the world through our senses – sight, smell, touch, sensations.
All of a sudden, we’re alive for the first time.
Once you can control your mind you can heal your body and transform your life.

One of the most educating books I ever read, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle explains how to live in the Now and be more present, content and happy in great detail.
I’ve recommended it to everyone I know, especially to people stuck in grief from the past or their anxiety from the future. It really has the potential to shift people’s views and consequently change their lives.

It’s not the easiest of books to read, you have to pay close attention to the content and try to understand the words with your heart rather than your rational brain. The book definitely isn’t one of those easy fixes (there’s no such thing!) but will change your understanding of yourself and the world.

Full Moon MagicThere are many ways to heal, clear and balance your chakras. If done regularly, it can bring outstanding results and a happier and healthier life. Find out how to give your chakras some well-deserved lovin’ on my Chakra Healing Methods page.

Amethyst NecklaceOne of my favourite ways of clearing my chakras is working with crystals. They are by far the strongest aid when it comes to chakra balancing, as they can tap into the energies of a specific chakra and raise its vibration. AND…They can be worn as jewellery (YAY!) or placed around your living space (great protective ornaments!) to bring out the best in you.

It is essential to start your chakra clearing and balancing at your Root Chakra, you can find more information on laying strong chakra healing foundations here.

Ensure you’ve cleansed your crystals before use. There are various ways of doing that effectively, it’s best to try out a few different methods to see which one of them resonates with you and your crystals best.

Brow Chakra is associated with indigo colour, so most of the Brow Chakra healing crystals can be found in indigo shades. A lot of them are known to have a similar effect on all upper chakras and can be used accordingly.

third eye buddhismAs the name itself suggests, Third Eye chakra is located in between the eyebrows over the pineal gland (where our Third Eye is positioned). It is highly beneficial for an individual’s spiritual development to open up their third eye in order to gain psychic abilities and access their souls’ inner wisdom.

As humans, we ALL have our third eye.
Unfortunately, it’s in its dormant state in most people, which fail to acknowledge their spiritual and psychic powers.

There are many ways to open your Third Eye but make sure you’re grounded first to avoid being overwhelmed by your newly acquired knowledge.
Meditating by looking at the candle is just one of the ways to achieve a gradual opening, and you can do a lot for your third eye if you’re eating a clean, vegan diet full of veggies and goji berries. Do your best to avoid alcohol and fluoride (use herbal toothpaste instead), as it poisons the pineal gland.

Being Present and ServingOf course, there are many crystals that aid psychic development, and some of them are listed below. Crystals that resonate with Brow Chakra will also enhance your intuition, connect you with your inner and divine guidance, and will improve your attitude towards life and yourself. This is where selflessness is born, so prepare to give back to the Universe and those around you.

If you keep finding yourself getting back into the negative way of thinking or find yourself affected by negativity in general, this is the perfect stone for protection from such energy. It holds a strong grounding power to the Earth, so use it whenever you’re doing some healing work, especially with higher chakras (from the heart chakra upwards).

Lapis Lazuli ElephantLAPIS LAZULI is known as the Philosopher’s Stone and resonates with Throat Chakra also. Its colour and energy represent integrity and truth and it’s used to symbolise one’s inner wisdom or the wisdom of our Higher Selves.  I am all for being honest and transparent. I created this website because I have a (slightly insane) obsession with both crystals and chakras and feel a strong need to spread my knowledge and enthusiasm.

I am an affiliate marketer, which means that every time you purchase a crystal or any other product by following a link from my website I get a small commission. That way you support my efforts and enable me to create more content, post regular updates and help me spread the love of crystals, for which I am eternally grateful! And so are the crystals, I hope:)
